Aerojet uses several remediation processes to treat affected groundwater. NDMA and VOCs are destroyed using ultraviolet light. Perchlorate is removed either by a biological treatment process, pioneered by Aerojet, or by an ion exchange process. Residual VOCs are removed by air stripping.
Aerojet environmental engineers are also evaluating other technologies to treat chemicals in ground water.
