Aerojet is also at the forefront of soil remediation. Engineers conceived and tested the concept of insitu soil bioremediation for perchlorate, an in-ground treatment to destroy perchlorate in soils using native microbes and organic matter.

The results of these efforts have been published in technical journals and presented at national conferences. Insitu soil bioremediation has since been implemented at numerous sites in the United States.
